Maureen reached out to me back in August to schedule an anniversary session for her and her husband Phil. They have been married 5 years and were ready for some updated photos. I loved that they wanted to do that, as many couples stop taking professional photos after their wedding and then wish they had them years later.

Maureen and Phil had their first date at the Umstead Hotel and Spa in Raleigh, so that is where we did their photos! Maureen looked absolutely stunning and they both were laughing the entire session. They are the type of couples that photographers dream of! They were so fun to chat with and get to know!

It was fun exploring the Umstead Hotel and Spa's grounds. The Umstead is the only Forbes Five-Star Hotel in North Carolina, so it was definitely a gorgeous spot for anniversary photos. We took photos along the boardwalk, on a beautiful walking path, by the pond, and then back in the hotel.

When their session was over, they asked if I'd like to join them for a champagne toast to celebrate. Of course I said yes! I could never say no to champagne and good company!! We sat and chatted all things life and living in the Raleigh area for almost an hour. It was so nice spending quality time with my clients after a session, rather than photographing and then going our separate ways.
