Rebecca entered a contest I ran back in November in honor of my 8 year anniversary with my husband. I was feeling in love and happy and wanted to do something nice for a deserving couple, so I created a couples session contest and Rebecca won! She told me her boyfriend, Mike, was going to be so mad when she told him he had to do a photo session. 🤣 He was a trooper though and did great!

We finally got together on a Monday evening in February for their photos and we had such a blast!! Rebecca and Mike haven't ever had professional photos taken together so they were a bit nervous, but they turned out so great! They are such a great couple and were so fun to hangout with. I always seem to want to befriend my clients after a shoot - and these two were no exception! We actually almost got drinks together after the session, but the brewery we were by had a long wait time so we didn't get a chance to that night. We were able to get together this past weekend though finally!!

This session was the first session that my husband lead! He is my second shooter at weddings and he takes video footage at a lot of enagement sessions that we do, but this was the first time that he actually lead the entire session. I wanted him to have more experience with taking charge with clients and practice with using a prime lens rather than a zoom lens like he normally shoots with. I thought he did great! It was so hard for me not to take charge though and I probably did more than I should have, but I hope it was a good learning experience for him. The photos turned out beautifully, so that speaks to his ability!

We took their photos in Downtown Raleigh. There are so many fun spots for photos downtown. The only time we have shot there before was to create some branding photos for myself, so this was a fun experience for us. I can't wait for another Downtown Raleigh shoot in the future.
