I had the pleasure of working with the Whitaker twice in 2021! They are a wonderful family that moved to North Carolina from Indiana in June of 2021, only 6 months after Henry and I moved to the area. I first met them at my Pumpkin Patch Mini Sessions Event in October, and then they reached out for a family session during the holiday break when the whole family was together.

We took their photos at Ebenezer Beach on Jordan Lake. I've done wedding portraits at this location before as well as participated in a fun styled shoot with another photographer there. It is such a gorgeous spot!! We were nervous the shoot would be rained out but we decided to go for it even with rain in the forecast and it was absolutely perfect outside! It was unseasonably warm in December so we enjoyed a 70-degree evening while taking their family portraits. What a treat that was!

Jordan Lake is such a fun spot. Adam and Katharine mentioned that this was their common hangout spot over the summer. Jordan Lake covers 13,940 acres and has a shoreline of 180 miles. It is such a beautiful spot! I stayed after the shoot to enjoy the sunset and just reflect on 2021. The Whitaker Family was the last family that I shot for the year. I am extremely grateful to everyone that hired me and took a chance on me while I was still establishing myself in North Carolina. I especially love working with the same family multiple times. It means so much when someone reaches back out to me to work together again. I've met so many great people and will forever be thankful! 🤍
