I traveled to Michigan for Memorial Day weekend to celebrate my brothers graduation and my other brothers 20th birthday. I let everyone know that I would be home for the weekend and would have a little bit of availability to have a few shoots while home. Holly reached out wanting to book a family session with me and I was so happy that she did! Holly is family and it was so great being able to spend some time with Holly, Tony and the kiddos while photographing them!

My brother had his graduation party on Saturday, May 28th. I orginially had said I wouldn't be available on that date for any shoots, but Holly and family was attending the grad party, so we took some time out in the middle of it to do the shoot nearby! It worked out perfectly timing wise, but weather wasn't working in our favor.

We originally planned to do the shoot at the end of the grad party, so I hadn't looked at the weather forecast in a few hours, but about halfway through the party, Holly showed me the radar and we realized that the rain had started and didn't show any signs of ending any time soon. We decided to move forward with the shoot in the rain and it ended up working out fine! We took their photos at the Binsfeld Bayshore Park on Lake Superior in Munising, Michigan. We started in the covered gazebo to make sure we got a handful of shots without any raindrops on everyone's shirts. Then we braved the drizzling rain so that we could get Lake Superior in the background. We finished with some fun shots of the kiddos. They decided to jump into the lake! Of course I had to capture it on camera - the lake is FREEZING during that time of the year, so I know it couldn't have felt great for them. I happily stayed dry on the beach!
