Taletha reached out to me back in March to ask if I ever photograph back home in the Upper Peninsula and would be willing to shoot her and her boyfriend, Hayden's graduation photos. She sent me the sweetest message telling me how she loved my work and would love me to photograph the two of them. It was the best message to receive! I am so thankful she reached out because I happened to have plans to travel home to Michigan to celebrate my brothers high school graduation at the end of May, just a few weeks after Taletha and Hayden graduated, so it was perfect timing!!

When I left North Carolina to head to Michigan, it was 94 degrees and sunny. When I crossed the Mackinac Bridge into the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, it was 51 degrees and pure fog. I knew I was home! 🤣 We took Taletha and Hayden's photos on a Friday morning at 9am, and it was a brisk 45 degrees. I was wearing my winter jacket and it was May 27th! That's my hometown for you!!

Taletha graduated from Lake Superior State University in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and plans to gain experience back in Munising to become a probation officer. Hayden graduated from Bay College in Escanaba, Michigan and plans to go to the Police Academy this fall to pursue becoming a law enforcement officer. I loved his decorated cap that he had for graduation!

Taletha and Hayden were so fun to photograph!! They were my very last graduation session with the spring Class of 2022. They went to school in different cities in the UP, so we photographed in our hometown of Munising to make it easy for everybody. This was my first time shooting in downtown Munising, so I wasn't sure where we would go, but we found a flowering tree right near where we had met, so it was perfect!! They make a great couple and I wish them the absolute best in their future endeavors!
