I'm Julia, the lead photographer and owner of Julia Renee Photography. I graduated from Michigan State in 2018 (um, where does the time go?!) and immediately missed the college experience, so after moving to Raleigh in 2020, I knew I had to reconnect with that world. The friendships, the football games, the accomplishments - it all goes by way too fast - so as a photographer, I knew I wanted to make an impact on college seniors by capturing those moments and friendships for students.
Now in 2026, I'm entering my 5th year of photographing grads, with having photographed over 250 sessions at NC State! While I wish I could photograph everyone, my busy schedule led me to build a team of photographers to ensure all seniors can enjoy the JRP experience.
At your session, we’ll be your biggest cheerleaders, helping you feel confident and comfortable. We’ll want to hear all about your dreams and goals and we'll make sure to capture that classic cap-and-gown photo for your parents as well!

Meet the Associate Team
hannah
While I wish that I could photograph every single senior myself, I unfortunately cannot be in multiple places at once. So - I've hired a team of the best grad photographers Raleigh has to offer to add to the JRP team! I have trained each of our photographers to shoot in the same style as me, and we all use the same gear to ensure that all of our photos remain consistent. I edit all of the photos myself - so you will still get the same great JRP grad experience no matter who you are working with!
Hannah is a Raleigh-based wedding and portrait photographer with a degree in Commercial Photography from Appalachian State University. She’s been photographing seniors and grads since high school and loves celebrating such an exciting season with everyone she meets. Her goal is to make every session fun, relaxed, and confidence-boosting so you feel amazing in front of the camera.
When she’s not behind the lens, she works full-time with a Therapeutic Foster Care and Mental Health organization. In her free time, she enjoys being with her fiancé, friends, and family.
MADELINE
Madeline graduated from NC State in 2023 and has been photographing NC State graduates for the last four grad seasons. She likes to capture real smiles, fun moments, and promises to crack corny jokes to get the most out of your session. Growing up in the Triangle, State's campus has always been one of her favorite places and she knows her way around the fun spots.
When not taking photos, Madeline works full time as a project manager, loves to craft, and cheers on NC State sports.
Henry
Henry has been photographing grad sessions at NC State with Julia since moving to Raleigh in 2020. Though he didn't attend NCSU, he knows all the best spots and is a favorite among the guys and parents for being easy to talk to and fun during sessions.
When not behind the camera, he works full-time in the auto industry, runs his business - Cobb Auto Detailing, and loves spending time with his son. He's a big football fan, enjoys fishing in the mountains and tackling home renovation projects.
TIANNA
Tianna is originally from coastal North Carolina but moved to the area after graduating from UNC-Chapel Hill. She officially discovered her love for portrait photography while studying abroad in England and has been behind a camera ever since. She absolutely loves capturing everybody!
When she’s not behind the camera, she’s mom to the spunkiest three-year-old you’ll ever meet. She also loves to travel and is an avid reader. Her perfect day includes cuddling up with her toddler, reading a good book, and sipping a cup of coffee.
NC State Graduation Photos
NC weather can be unpredictable which is why we keep reschedule dates in our calendar each week. I will notify you 24 hours before your shoot if it looks like we'll have to reschedule for rain, temperatures over 95 degrees or under 35 degrees, or winds over 15 mph.
What if the weather is bad on our original date?
Absolutely!
With any package, you can order prints directly through our print shop in your final gallery after it is delivered to you (they come from our print shop, are affordable, and are high quality) or you can order wherever you'd like!
Can I print my photos?
1-2 weeks depending on your package, but you can also add rush editing if you'd like to see them sooner!
When will I get my photos?
Our sessions start at $500 and go up from there!
A $100 retainer holds your spot for each of these sessions, and will be billed upon booking. This also counts towards your total, so the price you see is the price you'll pay (plus tax). The remainder is due on the day of your session & you will receive an invoice with a payment reminder for that final payment.
How much does each session cost?
We offer a 60 minute, 90 minute, and 120 minute session and you can also add on more time if you need it!
how long is each session?
We start photographing grad sessions as early as late February through late May with the busiest month being April. We shoot either right in the morning or 1-2 hours before the sun sets for the best lighting.
To avoid campus being busy with other grads/photographers at the popular spots, I recommend booking for Feb/March or April mornings.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO have my photos taken?
Frequently asked questions
Group sessions are our favorite! With our 90 minute and 2 hour sessions, you can have up to 10 people in your shoot, and split the prices above. The more people you bring, the more fun you'll have! Have more than 10 friends in your group? Just add more session time! Group sessions always include both group photos and individual shots of everyone.
Please note that the more friends you bring along, we may not be able to visit as many locations. For example, 1 grad can typically visit 3-4 locations in a 90-minute session, but 5-10 friends may only have time for 1-3!
Can I shoot with friends?
The Red & White Session is designed for one graduate. You’re welcome to include parents, siblings, or a significant other for a few photos, but if another grad wants to join in, you’ll need to upgrade to the Pack Pride Session.

The Pack Pride Session offers more flexibility. It can be booked for a solo grad who wants extra time or for a group of up to 10 people.

The Pack Pride and Celebrating Your Pack collections allow for time to visit Centennial Campus. The Red and White only allows for time on Main Campus.

Julia was absolutely AMAZING to work with. We had a group of 7 for a grad photo session and the wind was 15 mph that day. Julia so kindly offered to reschedule us, but our group ended up going for it, and the photos turned out fantastic!! Julia was so amazing!! Me and my best friend decided to do a group session where we both got individuals and pictures together.
