I'm Julia, the lead photographer and owner of Julia Renee Photography. I graduated from Michigan State in 2018 (um, where does the time go?!) and immediately missed the college experience, so after moving to Raleigh in 2020, I knew I had to reconnect with that world. The friendships, the football games, the accomplishments - it all goes by way too fast - so as a photographer, I knew I wanted to make an impact on college seniors by capturing those moments and friendships for students.
Now in 2024, I'm entering my 4th year of photographing grads, with having photographed over 250 sessions at NC State! While I wish I could photograph everyone, my busy schedule led me to build a team of photographers to ensure all seniors can enjoy the JRP experience.
At your session, we’ll be your biggest cheerleaders, helping you feel confident and comfortable. We’ll want to hear about your goals and make sure to capture that classic cap-and-gown photo for your parents as well!

Meet the Associate Team
Julianna
While I wish that I could photograph every single senior myself, I unfortunately cannot be in multiple places at once. So - I've hired a team of the best grad photographers Raleigh has to offer to add to the JRP team! I have trained each of our photographers to shoot in the same style as me, and we all use the same gear to ensure that all of our photos remain consistent. I edit all of the photos myself - so you will still get the same great JRP grad experience no matter who you are working with!
Julianna, an NC State Class of 2023 graduate, has 4 years of experience shooting seniors and loves being part of the JRP team. While at NC State, she built her photography business, bartended, and studied Fashion Merchandising. Now, she shoots weddings nationwide!
Her favorite part of shooting NC State seniors is making sessions feel like a fun girls' night out and showcasing unique photo locations around campus.
Emily
Emily is in her third year photographing JRP grads at NC State. A wedding and portrait photographer from Eastern NC, she graduated from NC State in 2022 and cherishes her time in the Wolfpack community (ask her about her favorite buildings!).
Working with NC State grads is special to her as it kickstarted her photography career. She’s skilled in prompts and poses to help you feel your best, ensuring you have a great time. Go Pack!
Henry
Henry has been photographing grad sessions at NC State with Julia since moving to Raleigh in 2020. Though he didn't attend NCSU, he knows all the best spots and is a favorite among the guys and parents for being easy to talk to and fun during sessions.
When not behind the camera, he works full-time in the auto industry, runs his business - Cobb Auto Detailing, and travels. He's a big football fan, enjoys fishing in the mountains and tackling home renovation projects.
Bailey
Bailey is JRP's newest team photographer and is excited to work with you! As our most recent graduate, she’s in tune with the trends and connects well with seniors.
From Cary, NC, Bailey graduated in 2023 from The University of Alabama, where she discovered her passion for photography. She loves meeting new people and capturing special moments. When she’s not shooting, she enjoys traveling, shopping, getting coffee, and spending time with family and friends. She can’t wait to meet you soon!
NC State Graduation Photos
NC weather can be unpredictable which is why we keep reschedule dates in our calendar each week. I will notify you 24 hours before your shoot if it looks like we'll have to reschedule for rain, temperatures over 95 degrees or under 35 degrees, or winds over 15 mph.
What if the weather is bad on our original date?
Absolutely!
With any package, you can order prints directly through our print shop in your final gallery after it is delivered to you (they come from our print shop, are affordable, and are high quality)!
If you'd like to print your own photos elsewhere, you'll either need to purchase print rights if booking the Red and White or you'll want to book the Pack Pride session or the Celebrating Your Pack session which includes print rights. This will allow you to print your images anywhere as often as you'd like!
Can I print my photos?
1-2 weeks depending on your package, but you can also add rush editing if you'd like to see them sooner!
When will I get my photos?
Our sessions start at $500 and go up from there!
A $100 retainer holds your spot for each of these sessions, and will be billed upon booking. This also counts towards your total, so the price you see is the price you'll pay. The remainder is due on the day of your session & you will receive an invoice with a payment reminder for that final payment.
How much does each session cost?
We offer a 60 minute, 90 minute, and 120 minute session and you can also add on more time if you need it!
how long is each session?
We start photographing grad sessions as early as late February through late May with the busiest month being April. We shoot either right in the morning or 1-2 hours before the sun sets for the best lighting.
To avoid campus being busy with other grads/photographers at the popular spots, I recommend booking for Feb/March or April mornings.
WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO have my photos taken?

Group sessions are our favorite! With our 90 minute and 2 hour sessions, you can have up to 10 people in your shoot, and split the prices above. The more people you bring, the more fun you'll have! Have more than 10 friends in your group? Just add more session time! Group sessions always include both group photos and individual shots of everyone.
Please note that the more friends you bring along, we may not be able to visit as many locations. For example, 1 grad can typically visit 3-4 locations in a 90-minute session, but 5-10 friends may only have time for 1-3!
Can I shoot with friends?
There are 5 main differences between The Red and White and Pack Pride. (1) With the Red and White package, all of your prints are ordered directly through JRP. (2) With the Pack Pride package, you can go anywhere on campus, including Centennial Campus. The Red and White only includes Main Campus. (3) The Red and White is a solo session & Pack Pride can be solo or include up to 10 friends. (4) The Red and White is photographed by an associate photographer. The Pack Pride and Celebrating Your Pack can include shooting with an associate photographer or Julia. (5) You get your images back in 2 weeks with the Red and White package. With the Pack Pride, that turnaround time is just one week!

The Pack Pride and Celebrating Your Pack collections allow for time to visit Centennial Campus. The Red and White only allows for time on Main Campus.

Julia was absolutely AMAZING to work with. We had a group of 7 for a grad photo session and the wind was 15 mph that day. Julia so kindly offered to reschedule us, but our group ended up going for it, and the photos turned out fantastic!! Julia was so amazing!! Me and my best friend decided to do a group session where we both got individuals and pictures together.
